Mooresville, IND. – State Representative Craig Haggard (R-Mooresville District 57) will vote to redistrict if a special session is called.
Following a week of receiving more calls from concerned constituents who are scared
their votes will be further diluted by extreme attempts and threats by top Democrat
leaders to take drastic gerrymandering to their states where Republican votes are
already diluted, Rep. Haggard will support redistricting in Indiana as a way to counteract Democrat influence at the national scale if a special session is called by the Governor.
“I want to make it clear, this was a decision I did not want to make but after seeing the threats to democracy extreme Democrats were peddling at a national level to make sure Republicans are not equally represented. I have always been a fighter and sometimes we have to make a sacrifice to win the war. President Trump carried 88 counties and won the state by nearly 20 percent. It is time to reflect the views of the voters on a map that represents that.”
Haggard will promise to support Republican’s fight nationally for a fair election in 2026. “I have heard the calls and I have seen the news. It is Indiana’s time to no longer stand on the sidelines while Democrats spent the 2020 redistricting process stealing seats from Republicans in states like Illinois, California, New York and many others,” Haggard said.
