Mooresville, IND. – State Representative Craig Haggard (R-Mooresville District 57)

calls on Statehouse leaders to bring redistricting to a vote. Rep. Haggard is urging leaders in both chambers to convene and vote on the redistricting measure Governor Braun and others have called for throughout the state to ensure every voice and vote is publicly recorded.

“I want to be clear that Republicans need to be the party of accountability and transparency. I commend the efforts of those who have said publicly where they stand on this crucial national issue, but we should have every vote heard and seen in a public setting by voting on it to remove the fog of back-room votes and closed door meetings.”

“Redistricting is something that many in my party might not want to do but we should

look what is happening in California with their far-left Governor and rumors of other

states like Virginia, Illinois, and Maryland jumping into the fight to benefit Democrats.

Their goal is to give themselves more AOC’s and recruit radical leftists, as we saw

recently in New York with the election of a communist mayor. Republicans in Indiana

cannot and should not stand on the sidelines and watch Democrats gerrymander their

way to a permanent House majority by silencing Republican voters—voters who worked last fall to re-elect President Trump by an overwhelming majority nationwide and delivered a Republican-held House of Representatives.”

Rep. Haggard reiterated that he remains available to vote in December as instructed by the Governor, and affirmed he will vote yes if the house brings redistricting to the floor. He calls on his colleagues to do the same.
