Mooresville, IN - State Representative Craig Haggard, R-Mooresville District 57, today formally announced he is a candidate to represent the citizens of Indiana’s 4th Congressional district in the 121st United States Congress.

“I have been touring the district for several months, listening to citizens from all walks of life, about their dreams for their families. I have also heard thousands of Hoosiers articulate the issues they believe need to be addressed, and the opportunities they think need to be seized for our State and our Nation. It all comes down to one word: “Freedom”. It is now time to act.”

Haggard has a career of service that has prepared him for this run, including more than two decades serving our country in the Marine Corp and the Indiana Air National Guard. After retiring from the military as a Lieutenant Colonel in 2013, Haggard was hired by the National Rifle Association to lead its efforts in Indiana to raise the funds necessary to support the NRA’s non-for-profit mission of protecting our 2nd Amendment rights. Haggard is confident he is best prepared to represent the district and the more than 750,000 Hoosiers who call the district home.

“I am a listener, and a doer”, said Haggard. “My military training and my service to my church taught me to put others first, and to focus my energy on accomplishing collective goals, based upon the will of God, and freedom-loving Americans everywhere.”

Since 2022, Haggard has served Hoosiers in the Indiana House of Representatives where he has served two terms and currently sits on the Veterans Affairs and Public Safety, Roads and Transportation, and Environmental Affairs committees. In his private life, Haggard is a commercial real estate broker and entrepreneur.

He is active in the Veterans of Foreign Wars, and the American Legion. Earlier in 2025, Haggard was elected overwhelmingly to the National Rifle Association Board of Directors. Haggard resides in his hometown of Mooresville with his wife, Brooke. They have four adult children: Ian (U.S. Marines); Isabella, Denver, CO; Eleyna, Indianapolis; and Aidan, University of Indianapolis.

If elected, Haggard plans on focusing his efforts in Congress on better securing our national security, tackling the growing debt crisis, and ensuring our military and veterans are properly represented and cared for.

“My life has been one of service”, said Haggard. “I will be the most accessible member of Congress. You can reach me on my cell phone- 317-402-2939. Call me anytime. I want to hear from you.”
